- Record Breaking Row
Record breaking rower Victoria Evans recently set a new world record for fastest female solo to row across the Atlantic Oceanic. Evans, a 35 year old British Lawyer who has done other great feats including climbing Mont Blanc, described the journey as harder in conditions rather than physical ability. She experienced extreme winds and waves during this nearly 41 day trip, and even had been stuck outside of her cabin at one point and had to use a knife to saw through the lock. In her words, “It’s a very unique sport in that you can't get off when you're there and you have to deal with it. So it was so, so intense.” Stay tuned for more sports news!
- Why Cats are Awesome - Maya
Cats have excellent hearing and a great sense of smell. They have soft, fluffy fur. They can sense vibrations in the air with there whiskers and are absolutely adorable. Cats are indoor animals that don't need to be walked outside, although they can be introduced to the outdoors. Many people don't understand how long a cat's life is when they buy a cat. A healthy cat can live up to eighteen years old and I know many cats that have lived past that age. They are smart as a younger child and sometimes can learn to open doors. Cats are smart enough to know which meows make you believe they are hungry or sad and use this to their advantage. They usually are pretty small and are often affectionate and particularly loyal to one person. Friendlier cats, such as the Balinese breed (although particular cats are different), can even become friends with a dog. Point is, cats are awesome!!! - A Mother's Love
Some people actively go out looking for ghost encounters, and every once in a while, they find one. When Kevin was a teenager, he and his friends had heard about a dangerous turn on the nearby highway that caused many accidents over the years; it was now haunted. The most well-known story was of a mother who took her own life after her son had crashed his car and died there. It was said around town that her ghost remained at the deadly turn to protect people from ending up like her deceased child. Kevin and his friends decided to put that theory to the test. At night, Kevin drove his friends out to the highway. When the group of boys arrived at the turn, they pulled over. They’d brought a bag of flour with them and proceeded to sprinkle the white powder on the road, the grass, and the car. The idea was to get footprints to prove that the ghost was indeed real. The boys hopped back in and began to take the car around the turn. Kevin accelerated faster and faster and—THUMP. The car came to an abrupt halt as if someone had slammed down on it with their own two hands. They immediately got out of the car and saw two woman-sized hand-prints in the white flour on the hood.
- The Upside-Down Strawberry
This special berry is one you have probably never seen before. Can you guess what is is? Here’s a hint, it’s not a strawberry, it’s a Pineberry! These fascinating plants are not genetically modified at all, and if you are asking what’s wrong with them, nothing! These fruits are white because it’s a less appealing color, and unlike strawberries, they don’t want to attract birds. They get their name “Pineberry” from the pineapple, because they taste a bit like the spiky yellow fruit. You can use a “Pineberry Strawberry” just like a regular one, they pair well with chocolate, vanilla, and smoked white fish. If your a fan of strawberries or pineapples, this fruit will be a delight for you and friends. Scavenger hunt hint: for the last but not least i'll have you eat an upside down feast. emoji:

- Bear Lake Monster
A Utah Ghost Story retold by S. E. Schlosser. If you travel to Bear Lake in Utah on a quiet day, you just might catch a glimpse of the Bear Lake Monster. The monster looks like a huge brown snake and is nearly 90 feet long. It has ears that stick out from the side of its skinny head and a mouth big enough to eat a man. According to some, it has small legs and it kind of scurries when it ventures out on land. But in the water - watch out! It can swim faster than a horse can gallop - makes a mile a minute on a good day. Sometimes the monster likes to sneak up on unwary swimmers and blow water at them. The ones it doesn't carry off to eat, that is. A feller I heard about spotted the monster early one evening as he was walking along the lake. He tried to shoot it with his rifle. The man was a crack shot, but not one of his bullets touched that monster. It scared the heck out of him and he hightailed it home faster than you can say Jack Robinson. Left his rifle behind him and claimed the monster ate it. Sometimes, when the monster has been quiet for a while, people start saying it is gone for good. Some folks even dredge up that old tale that says how Pecos Bill heard about the Bear Lake monster and bet some cowpokes that he could wrestle that monster until it said uncle. According to them folks, the fight lasted for days and created a hurricane around Bear Lake. Finally, Bill flung the monster over his shoulder and it flew so far it went plumb around the world and landed in Loch Ness, where it lives to this day. Course, we know better than that. The Bear Lake Monster is just hibernating-like. Keep your eyes open at dusk and maybe you'll see it come out to feed. Just be careful swimming in the lake, or you might be its next meal!
