- KBJ: The Newest Supreme Court Justice
Ketanji Brown Jackson was confirmed as the first African-American Supreme Court justice on April 7th, 2022 (one week ago). Jackson attended Harvard for college. She was formerly the Vice Chair of the United States Sentencing Commission from 2010-2014. From 2016 and onward she was a member of the Harvard Board of Overseers. On September 20, 2012, former president Barack Obama nominated Jackson to serve as a judge for the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and was confirmed. On the 25th of February 2022, president Joe Biden announced he was nominating Jackson for the Supreme Court. Her hearings began on March 21, but the vote resulted in a tie. On April 4th, the vote was taken to a procedural vote in the senate, and the vote was in her favor; 53-47. On April 7th, the same results occurred, confirming her. She will be sworn in sometime in June or July. Jackson will be the first ever Black woman to serve as a Supreme Court justice. Diversity is now spreading through the government, new voices are being heard, and Kentanji Brown Jackson is helping us take steps towards the goal of a ‘perfect’ democracy. So let us all take a second to thank KBJ for working so hard to get where she is today, and like this article to show your support.

Trees are fascinating organisms that supply oxygen. Here are five facts about trees you likely didn’t know about, listed below. Trees never die of old age. Fascinatingly, the oldest tree in the world is 4,852 years old! Trees can communicate. Usually they release different chemicals that other trees can sense to communicate different kinds of danger. Tree rings predict climate change. You may know that tree rings can show you a tree's age, but you probably didn’t know they indicate occurrences of natural disasters! Trees are the longest living organisms on Earth. Moon trees are grown from seeds taken to the moon. If you are interested by this article, please like it! - Top 10 Foods in the USA
Have you ever wondered what the top ten most eaten foods in America are? Well, I have them here for you today. 10.) Potato chips! These are also the #1 snack food. 9.) Donuts! I LOVE donuts. My favorite donut places are Krispy Kreme, Stans Donuts, and there was a place called Glazed and Infused, but sadly it closed. 8.) Ice Cream! I'm not surprised ice cream is on this list. It's a delicious cold treat for a hot day in the summer. 7.) Chicken Tenders! When I was little, the only things I would eat at restaurants were butter noodles, PB&J sandwiches, and chicken tenders. My favorite was obviously chicken tenders, and I still order them today. 6.) Sodas! It's not food, but people drink so many of these that it could be their entire meals. My favorite sodas are Coca Cola, 7-up, and Fanta. 5.) Pizza! If you have never had pizza, are you living under a rock?!?!? I personally love pineapple on pizza, but some people hate it. What do you think? 4.) Oreos! These are the #1 cookie as well. 3.) French Fries! French fries are a crispy fried potato that actually came from BELGIUM and not France. (Who knew!?!) 2.) Hot Dogs! My opinion may be a bit biased because I am from Chicago, but my favorite type of hot dogs are Chicago style. 1.) Aand lastly, the moment you have been waiting for… the most eaten food in america is… HAMBURGERS! I'm not a huge fan of hamburgers, but the best hamburger I have ever had was from Au Cheval. It is a delicious hamburger restaurant that I love. If any of these surprised you, please like this article.
- What is the Best Pet?
Many people wonder: what is the best pet? When we ask this question, we really think: which pet is the cutest? According to monkeybeach and many other websites, cats are the number one best and cutest pets in the world. Science proves that they are the most adorable, followed by ferrets, rabbits, and hamsters. To many people's surprise, dogs are only in fifth place. It’s likely because the average cuteness is averaged across 100 different dog breeds. The reason cats are considered the cutest animals is because they have soft, fluffy fur, high-pitched mews, and soothing purrs. Humans think animals are cute if they have large heads and big eyes, which cats (and especially kittens) definitely do. If you were surprised by this article, please like it.
- The Creature in the Forest
North Virginia 1988: My mom and I were having one of those fights again. My dad passed away when I was 5 and it's been hard on us; we moved and tried to forget what happened. I guess I regret this now, but I told my mom I'd leave and not come back. I packed together a sleeping bag, flashlight and some food. I stormed out of the house and made my way up the hilly region of our hometown. Once I found a comfortable spot, I rolled out the sleeping bag and tried to get some sleep. If I got any, it was restless. As I opened my eyes to look at the watch, it felt like I was under the presence of another being. I saw a mild silhouette of a rather large animal-like creature, but it had freakishly humane features too. I thought nothing of it and turned my head trying to get some more sleep. In the morning I ate the last of my food, and decided to apologize to my mother. It was just the wrong time and place that got me angry. As I knocked on the door of my house, no one came, until a bit later an elderly man with an odd hair-style came out and asked what I was doing. I just muttered and ran away. As I was walking through the streets a young girl remarked, "Look at dat poor man, he loogs so sad," pointing towards me. Her mother said, "You must be imagining things, there is nobody there!" When looking straight at me. The girl looked at me once again and kept on walking, looking at the cemetery to the right of her. I was very puzzled, nothing was making sense at all. As I walked into the cemetery I looked for my mother's name, in case she had died. To my surprise, I didn't find her gravestone, but mine! I apparently died in 1988. All of it was too much for me, so I sprinted out of the cemetery and went by the news store. The latest articles were from 2013, which is 25 years after the day I left my mother's house. I went back to the spot where I slept the previous night. The next morning the weather was terrible. I made my way back to my town and knocked once more at my previous house. This time, a police officer came out and asked me for my name. It turns out my mother had called the police to go searching for me. I was extremely happy to be back home, but what still bugged me was the fact that the police had searched exactly where I slept, but I never took my belongings with me that day.

- Sunday Music Update - April 10th, 2022
This is your Sunday music update to stay up-to-date on the latest music! First, we’re going to look at the Billboard Hot 100. At #1, we have Heat Waves, by Glass Animals. This alternative track has been on the board for over a year now. Even though the lyrics are: ‘Heat waves are fakin’ me out,’ this song’s popularity is not fake. #2, Stay, by The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber. A high energy song like this that brought LAROI to popularity is definitely going to stay a while. Clocking in and #3, we have Big Energy, by Latto. This song is was at #11 last week, and is now at #3. This Big Energy is on a big rise. Onto Super Gremlin, by Kodak Black, which is at #4. It peaked last week at #3, and is now falling. #5 is a little bit of a comeback song, by an artist who everyone thought was done, but then came back. This song is Enemy, by Imagine Dragons and JID, and this song has Dan Reynolds hit a very high note, on ‘Enemyyyyyyy-y!’, and the song in general has also hit a high note. Ghost, by Justin Bieber, was not the star of the album. When Justice dropped, Peaches was the one that took off. But now that the initial shock has passed, Ghost, a song that talks about losing someone dear to you, took off, and has reached number 5, though now it’s at #6. #7. This one is… interesting. abcdefu, by Gayle, at #7. This song is a breakup song, no doubt. Gayle remade the song many different ways, with a ‘angrier’ version and a ‘nicer’ version. One is even more explicit than the original, and the other is clean. This great song peaked at number 3, but has now fallen. #8 is We Don’t About Bruno, by Carolina Gaitan, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz & Encanto Cast. This song is… wow. A Disney song that hit and held number one on the billboard for 10 weeks, and is now entering its 15th week. This song is written by Lin Manuel Miranda. Its popularity will insure that people will never stop talking about Bruno. At #9, there’s THATS WHAT I WANT by Lil Nas X, from his album Montero. This song has been around for a while, and talks about wanting someone to love. Last, but not least, we have Woman, by Doja Cat. After she and SZA dropped Kiss Me More, Doja Cat maintained her popularity with this song. And that is all for the billboard, and now, I’m going to quickly run through the Spotify Top Hits. #1. As It Was - Harry Styles #2. Bam Bam (feat. Ed Sheeran) - Camila Cabello, Ed Sheeran #3. First Class - Jack Harlow #4. Ghost - Justin Bieber #5. THATS WHAT I WANT - Lil Nas X #6. Heat Waves - Glass Animals #7. When You’re Gone - Shawn Mendes #8. Boyfriend - Dove Cameron #9. Woman - Doja Cat #10. Enemy (with JID) - Imagine Dragons, JID, Arcane, League of Legends As you can see, there are similarities and differences in both lists. I’ll be back next Sunday, but until then, don’t forget: Music is Magic.

- Gilmore Girls - Aaryana
Gilmore Girls is a show about a mother who had her daughter at 16, and has to raise them all by herself in a small town called Stars Hollow. It stars Lauren Graham, Alexes Bledel, Scott Patterson, Melissa McCarthy, Kelly Bishop, Keiko Agena and many more. Lorelai (the mother) and Rory (the daughter) have a very close relationship, because Lorelai’s relationship with her parents is not a good one. The show starts when Rory is going into high school. Rory is an extremely smart girl who dreams about going to Harvard, and she studies very hard to make her dream come true. This show is truly amazing and has 7 seasons of about 30-45 minute episodes, and on top of that, a reunion called ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in The Life’, which has four episodes: Summer, Winter, Fall, and Spring. Each episode is about 1 hour and 30 minutes long. The show was released in October 2000. It won Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Actress: Comedy, Outstanding Makeup for a Series (Non-Prosthetic), Teen Choice Award for Choice Comedy Series, TCA Award for Outstanding New Program, and Teen Choice Award for Choice TV: Parental Unit. I personally loved this show because it was funny, sad, and happy. I would watch it again many more times. In conclusion, if you haven't watched this show yet, you should at least consider it.
